Kat Woronowicz was born in Warsaw, Poland and her family immigrated to the United States in the early 80s. Growing up American with a strong Polish heritage helped her to see her world through a different perspective. Picking up her first camera as a teenager, a Nikon FG and a gift from her father, made her fall in love with photography. After getting her B.S. in Photography in 2002, Kat worked as the photographer for a newspaper in beautiful Sedona, Arizona. She went freelance in 2004 and loves it. She now lives and works in San Diego, California and is available for editorial or commercial clients worldwide.

"There is a brief moment in the process of taking a picture when the photographer forgets the existence of the camera, forgets that there is between him and his subject a cold, intricate mechanism. During that instant, he stands in a sense naked, unassisted, left to see what his inner eye seeks to see. Other creative tools in other mediums are sometime forgotten at the peak of creative work, but only the camera has the power to record."
